On Friday 27 February, 15 dedicated students from NIHS proudly represented the school at the annual School Sport SA Swimming Championships. Competing against 9 opposing schools from across the state, the team demonstrated exceptional comradery, pride and resilience in every event.

A fantastic overall team result saw the NIHS boys finish 3rd overall, an outstanding achievement highlighted by strong individual performances from Nejan, Benji, Ian and Attis, who demonstrated their prowess in winning multiple individual events. Willow, Sarah and Akeesha were also outstanding, leading the way for the small, yet talented girls brigade of swimmers.

A standout performance came via the Under 13 Boys 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay team (pictured), who stormed home to claim victory by half a pool length. The team touched the wall in an impressive time of 2 minutes 12 seconds, capping off an electrifying race.

Beyond the podium finishes, what stood out most was the teamwork, encouragement, and positive attitude displayed throughout the day. Students supported one another between races, celebrated personal bests, and upheld the values of NIHS both in and out of the water.
