Sports Day 2026

Sports Day Lofty Leaders 2

The 2026 edition of Norwood International High School’s Sports Day was a celebration of the school’s house culture, team support, and individual achievement. On Wednesday 11 March, the SA Athletics Stadium played host to a range of track, field, and novelty events where students showcased their talents and contributed toward their house’s success. Sports Day is designed to be a foundational event that demonstrates school spirit and builds a culture of inclusion, participation, and celebration.

Outstanding Individual Performances

Several students delivered exceptional performances throughout the carnival, demonstrating impressive athletic ability and determination in both track and field events.

  • Ruka (Year 10): Produced a remarkable all-round performance, winning the 1500m, 800m, and Long Jump in his age group. His combination of endurance and power made him one of the standout athletes of the carnival.
  • Koray (Year 7): Had an exceptional day, claiming victories in the 1500m, 800m, and Long Jump, including record-setting results. His performance across multiple events showed great versatility and competitive spirit.
  • Jesse (Year 9): Impressed with wins in both the 1500m and 800m, while also placing strongly in the Triple Jump and Shot Put, highlighting his all-round athletic ability.
  • Myah (Year 10): Stood out in the field events, taking first place in both the Long Jump and Discus, while also recording strong performances across other events during the day.
  • Jayveer (Year 8): Dominated the throwing events by winning both the Javelin and Shot Put, along with a strong finish in the Discus.
  • Willow (Year 7): Had an outstanding day on the track, winning both the 1500m and the 800m with record-setting performances. Competing so strongly in distance events at such an early stage of secondary school made her performance particularly impressive and a highlight of the carnival.

These performances were a fantastic reflection of the effort and preparation students brought to the 2026 Athletics Carnival, contributing to a highly competitive and enjoyable day for the whole school community.
