Food fit for a feudal overlord!

In Week 5, the Yr 8 Italian Immersion Humanities class enjoyed a delicious Medieval-inspired lunch to conclude the unit of work on Life in the Middle Ages. The serfs and peasants may not have had much variety, but after we learned about the different ingredients available in Europe at the time, students brought in a mouth-watering selection of sweet and savoury foods fit for a feudal overlord (even if a few ingredients were borrowed from a century or two later…). It was all washed down with grape juice in lieu of wine (given that it was unsafe to drink water at the time) and everyone left with full bellies, after what was easily one of the best class lunches on record! Many thanks to the students and their families for their generous support of this activity.
