Year 10 students recently had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Active Citizenship Convention, an inspiring day designed to empower young people to become active, informed and compassionate citizens.
Throughout the day, students explored real-world scenarios, challenged their thinking and developed the skills and confidence needed to meaningfully participate in our democracy. They heard different perspectives, shared their own ideas and discovered the power of diverse voices and experiences in creating positive change.
A highlight of the day was the opportunity for a group of students to participate in a Round Table discussion with Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, engaging in meaningful conversations about citizenship, leadership and our community.
A group of students also enjoyed an exciting Studio Session with DEM MOB, exploring culture, identity, creativity and the importance of having a voice.
The Active Citizenship Convention provided a wonderful opportunity for our students, particularly those who may not always have opportunities to lead; to step forward, share their perspectives and build their confidence as the next generation of active citizens.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 10 students represented our school, demonstrating curiosity, compassion and a willingness to listen, learn and contribute.
