Welcoming Back Our 2025 IBDP Graduates – Senior School Assembly

Genpei Siddhan 0316

We were delighted to welcome back our 2025 IBDP graduates for the 2026 Senior Assembly on Friday 6 March, where the Senior School (Year 10-12) came to celebrate the many academic achievements of our students and set the scene for the year to come.

The assembly specifically recognised our 2025 IBDP Dux recipients, Genpei Z and Siddhan G, whose outstanding dedication and academic excellence exemplify the spirit of the IB.

When we asked Siddhan and Genpei to comment on their IBDP experience, they spoke proudly and confidently about the programme’s meaningful impact on their growth and identity. Siddhan is taking a GAP year in 2026 to return to South Africa and travel through Europe and will embark on a Medicine pathway on his return. Genpei is studying locally at Adelaide University in Bachelor of Law and Commerce.

Siddhan: The IBDP has been a demanding journey, but it taught me that resilience is our greatest asset. I’m reminded of my South African heritage and hero, Nelson Mandela: ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done.’ My time in the IBDP proved that while challenges are inevitable, being defeated is optional; if you outwork the challenge, the results have no choice but to follow. I’m honoured to be named Dux and am grateful to my teachers, family, and friends for helping me turn those challenges into a platform for future growth.

Genpei: To me, the program was undeniably challenging but also rewarding. It requires commitment and passion and a thirst for knowledge about the world we live in. IBDP is more than a learning program to me, with the caring teachers and our friends, our class was more like a family. We learn together, we plan our projects together, we grow with each other; the cohesion is different from any other program I’ve heard of or experienced. If I was I given another chance, I would always choose IBDP.

Our graduates are embracing a range of new opportunities and experiences, from gap years and international travel to University locally, interstate and internationally including globally acclaimed Universities in Japan!

The IBDP not only equips students with strong academic foundations, but with the confidence, curiosity and global perspectives to thrive beyond school.
