Senior Basketball
The Senior A boys produced a dominant performance against Gleeson College, securing a convincing 61–33 victory as they look to kickstart their season. Deacon was outstanding throughout the game, leading the team with his strong all-round performance and leadership on court.
The Senior B team also enjoyed a big win, defeating Gleeson College 73–31 in one of the standout performances of the week. Sam was against excellent at both ends of the court.
Despite a determined effort, the Senior C team went down to a strong Gleeson side 49–27, with Taher continuing to compete strongly and work tirelessly for his team throughout the contest.
Middle Basketball
Logan continued his stellar form, helping to guide the Middle A team to a closely contested, high scoring win against Gleeson College 72–61.
Middle B and Middle C fought hard against strong Gleeson College opposition but were ultimately unable to secure results. Well done to Will (B) and Charlie (C) who were both recognised for the efforts they produced for their respective teams.
Year 7 Blue continued their strong form with a 36–24 win over Marryatville High School, while Year 7 Red also came away victorious, defeating Marryatville 27–14. Rithish was particularly impressive for the Red team whilst Dominic dominated for the Blue brigade.
Senior Soccer
The NIHS First XI soccer team delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Cardijn College 13–0 in a dominant display. Milan was exceptional in attack and was recognised as the best player on the ground as a result.
The Second XI also enjoyed success with a hard fought 4–2 win over Marryatville High School. Ryan led the way in attack, scoring a crucial goal whilst providing plenty of scoring opportunities.
Middle Soccer
The Middle A boys recorded an impressive 10–2 victory against Marryatville High School with all players playing their roles for the team. Hugo was a pillar in defence all morning before sneaking forward to secure a rare goal as he latched onto a an in swinging corner.
The Middle B match was action packed with both teams sharing the spoils in what ended a 5–5 draw. Bellamy was excellent in the centre of the park, whilst Korai earnt himself a hat trick of goals in attack.
Despite battling hard in the second half, the Year 7 team fell at the hands of a polished Marryatville side, going down 7–2 as the final whistle sounded. Well done to Pavara who demonstrated his steep improvement with his performance on the weekend.
Girls Netball
A thrilling, evenly contested match ended in a 26-26 draw for the Year 9B2 team as they took on Unley High School on Saturday morning. Erica was a focal point in attack for the girls who look to continue building their form this season.
The Year 8B2 secured an excellent 30–11 victory over St Mary’s College that saw Tanvi named as the standout performer. Year 8C1 Red continued to compete strongly, with Rin showing excellent effort and consistency, while Emily worked tirelessly for Year 8C1 Blue in their match against Mercedes College.
Year 7C1 continued to show resilience despite a tough game against Cabra College, with Layla recognised for her consistent effort across four quarters.
Table Tennis
Dominic showed his class in the continued strong form for Middle A team who accounted for their opposition in another impressive performance.
Middle B fought hard against St Ignatius’ College but despite the efforts of Josh went down to strong opposition.
Not even the best efforts of star player, Ziggy could help steer the Year 7 team to victory on Friday afternoon, succumbing to a strong St. Michael’s outfit.
Senior Girls Badminton
The Senior A girls badminton team continued their strong season with an excellent 5–1 victory over Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Xantheh was outstanding in the victory as the girls continue their quest for the coveted Senior A title.
Lucy was the star performer for the Senior B2 Red team who claimed a close win over MMC whilst the red team had the week off with a scheduled BYE.
Middle Girls Badminton
All smiles for the Middle C1 Red and Middle C1 Blue teams who both recorded strong 4–2 victories against St Aloysius College and St Ignatius’ College respectively. Pixie and Amaya were standout performers in their teams’ impressive wins.
Middle B1 Red earned a hard-fought 3–3 draw against Loreto College in a very even contest, while all players contributed strongly throughout the round.
Despite defeats for the Middle A2 Red, Middle A2 Blue teams, Nitya and Heidi were particularly impressive with their persistence and performances in both singles and doubles matches.
