Schuhplattler: Bringing German Culture to Life

wordpress postAXTr2c

What a fantastic afternoon of German culture, music and dancing at Norwood International High School.

German students had the opportunity to experience an exciting and authentic aspect of German cultural heritage through a Schuhplattler workshop.

Students were introduced to the traditions and history behind this lively Bavarian dance before getting stuck into the fun – learning the clapping, stamping and energetic movements that make Schuhplattler so distinctive.

There were plenty of laughs, a few challenging moves and lots of enthusiastic participation along the way!

The workshop was a wonderful opportunity for students to experience German culture first-hand, try something completely new and discover that learning a language can be about so much more than words.

It was fantastic to see our students embrace the experience, step outside their comfort zones and participate with such enthusiasm.

A huge Danke schön to Rowan Classen for sharing his knowledge, energy and passion with our students and for bringing a little piece of Bavaria to NIHS!

Was für ein tolles Erlebnis!
