IBDP1 Economics students braved the wet weather at Rundle Mall, surveying business owners and members of the public about inflation, consumer spending, employment, housing pressures and confidence in the economy, all ready to be analysed using the AD-AS model!

A little rain wasn’t going to stop our IBDP1 Economics students from taking their learning to Rundle Mall on Friday 4 September!

Armed with umbrellas, fieldwork booklets and plenty of courage, students approached business owners to investigate changing costs, prices, employment and consumer demand. They also spoke with members of the public to survey their experiences of the cost of living, housing pressures and confidence in the economy.

The students will now take their real-world evidence back to the classroom and use the AD–AS model to analyse inflation, unemployment and economic growth.

A big thank you to the businesses and members of the public who stopped, even in the rain, to support our budding economists! ☔📈
