IBDP1 Economics Excursion

DP Eco 9

Our new IBDP1 Economists hit the ground running with another hands-on excursion to the iconic Adelaide Central Market. 🛍️📊

Students rolled up their sleeves and engaged directly with vendors to unpack the real story behind demand, supply, and price-setting. From fluctuating input costs to competition pressures (and a few “trade secrets” 👀), our DP1s tested classroom theory against real-world business challenges.

This is what deep learning looks like: connecting abstract theory to lived experience, reflecting on assumptions, and building metacognition; thinking about how we think.

🌟 Highlight of the day? One of our own, Nathan, works at the Market! Thanks to his passion (and elite social network status), students got a behind-the-scenes donut-making experience 🍩 and may or may not have scored some free treats from various stalls. Purely for research purposes, of course.
