Representatives from Canberra visited Norwood International High School to discuss career pathways and current economic news with Economics students.
On June 16, Year 11 and 12 SACE and IBDP Economics students attended a 40-minute presentation from Commonwealth Treasury. We were delighted that the keynote speaker was Damien White, Deputy Secretary (Fiscal Group).
The session was highly informative, and discussed various pathways for working at Treasury, as well as current fiscal issues. Students asked relevant, and entertaining (!!) questions at the end of the session.
Treasury has since let us know they’d like to return next year to continue their student engagement program. Norwood International High School is the only public school in South Australia involved in this program, offering fantastic exposure for our senior Economics, Accounting, and Business students.
