Term 4 – Week 3 Results

Boys’ Volleyball

Senior A2/B2
The Senior A2 boys delivered an outstanding performance, defeating St Peter’s College in straight sets in their clash. Phong set the tone for the boys with his strong serving and consistency. Unfortunately, the B2 boys were unable to replicate this form to break through a strong St Peter’s defence, going 3-0 in the match that followed. Isaac impressed in the loss and was named as the team’s best player on the day.

Middle C
The Middle C continued their dominance on Friday, defeating St Ignatius’ College by a 3-0 set margin. Dev was a standout performer across the 3 sets, demonstrating his steep improvement across the season so far.

Badminton

Senior A1
In what was a treat for spectators, the Senior A team found themselves involved in a closely contested, high quality match up with St. Peter’s. Mahir played a pivotal role playing as #2, winning both his singles and doubles contests. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, the team fell agonisingly short of an overall win (4-5).

Senior B1
The strong form of Tam was not enough to secure a win for the Senior B team who struggled against a dominant St Peter’s College side, falling 12-2.

Senior C
The Senior C team was outclassed by Marryatville High School and suffered a heavy 12-0 defeat as a result. Despite the loss, Lordy was recognised for strong efforts and resilience on a testing morning circumstances.

Middle A2 Navy
The Middle A2 Navy team were unable to match the strength brought to the court by Blackfriars Priory School on Saturday morning, falling 8-1 in total matches. Tasos was the standout performer showing consistency at the net and helping secure their lone victory.

Middle B2 Navy
In a closer contest, the Middle B2 Navy team challenged Blackfriars Priory School but ultimately fell short of a team result despite 4 individual match wins. Zi continued her strong form, securing wins in both her doubles and singles matches.

Middle A2 Red
The Middle A2 Red team were unlucky to go down 5-4 in a tight fixture against Adelaide High School despite trading wins throughout. Josh played a key role on the day, winning his critical singles and doubles matches in strong showings.

Middle B2 Red
It was smiles around for the Middle B2 Red team who secured a nail-biting 5-4 win over Adelaide High School. Kyle put in a strong performance and was recognised for his efforts as a result.

Year 7
Thomas’ efforts helped guide the Year 7 mixed badminton team on Saturday as they made it 3 from 3 with a strong win over Marryatville High School (9-3).

Middle Tennis

Middle C
The Middle C tennis braved warm conditions to put forward a dominant display emphasised by a 9-1 victory over St Peter’s College. Raine’s performances were a feature of the day, as was able to secure wins in both her doubles and singles ties despite playing in her first competitive match.

Girls Basketball

Year 7 C
The Year 7 C girls suffered a tough 30-4 defeat to Loreto College over the weekend. Despite the tough result, their resilience and determination were typified by Layla whose pressure was relentless across all four quarters.

Girls Volleyball

Senior A
The Senior A girls, despite a high-quality performance from key player Kalana fell short of the result they were after, going down 2-1 to Unley High School.

Senior B2
The Senior B girls were outplayed by a strong Marryatville High School side who took all 3 sets in their clash. Sze Yu stood out with her strong digging and serving a highlight despite the defeat.

Middle A
The Middle A girls demonstrated why they are a force to be reckoned with, beating Mary MacKillop College in straight sets. Alessia was the star of the show in the emphatic win.

Middle B2
The Middle B2 girls claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win against Pedare College highlighted by a string of Ashleigh serves that helped secure the win.

Middle C2
The Middle C2 girls, led by a strong serving Zoe came from behind to win 2-1 against Sacred Heart College in what was a fiercely contested match that had spectators on the edge of their seats.

Year 7
The Year 7 girls kept their undefeated streak intact, securing a hard fought, 2-1 win over St Michaels College. Aliyah was a standout performer whose efforts on court were key to claiming to the win.

Cricket

Middle B1
The Middle B1 North cricket team suffered a heavy defeat against Sacred Heart, going down by 8 wickets after setting a total of 51 runs which was chased down in the 11th over. Shresth was solid with the bat, claiming 11 runs as well as some sharp work behind the stumps that resulted in a stumping.
