Term 4 – Week 2 Results

Boys Volleyball

The senior boys’ volleyball teams squared off against PAC in the NIHS volleyball cauldron on Friday evening to kick off the weekend of sport. In the Senior A2 squad secured a hard-fought victory against Prince Alfred College, winning 2-1, with help from a standout performance from Lucas who demonstrated his exceptional skill and leadership. Unfortunately, the Senior B2 team faced a setback, losing to the same opponent 1-2, despite Noah’s commendable efforts on the court.

A lack of numbers meant the Middle boys were forced into a forfeit against Unley. Despite this, they did play off in a scratch matcher whereby An Viet was a prominent performer.

Mixed Badminton

The mixed badminton teams faced tough competition in St. Peter’s on Saturday morning. The Senior A1 and B1 teams both suffered heavy defeats despite some close encounters in both doubles and singles matches, evidenced through Ivan and Aleena’s efforts. The Senior C team battled gallantly against St. Ignatius College, ultimately losing 3-7, despite Mayra’s strong showing.

As for the middle years, the A2 Navy and B2 Navy teams were outshone by a polished St. Ignatius, going down 2-7 and 2-8 in total matches respectively. However, the Middle A2 Red team had a bright performance, securing a hard-fought win over St. Paul’s College with a score of 6-4, thanks to an outstanding performance from Xantheh. The Year 7 team continued their strong start to the season, dominating Woodcroft College with a remarkable 10-1 victory, led by their first seed, Lucas.

Middle Tennis

The tennis squad used Saturday to hone in their skills with a practice session in place of their scheduled BYE.

Girls Basketball

A testing start to the season continued for the Year 7 basketball team who faced a strong Cabra outfit. The girls, typified by those of Danielle continue to demonstrate a resilient, positive mindset despite experiencing back to back heavy defeats.

Girls Volleyball

The Senior A team struggled to find their rhythm early against St. Dominic’s Priory College in their clash over the weekend. Adryanna did her best to lift the girls as they improved in the second set, however St. Dom’s did enough to hold on to clinch the 2-0. In contrast, the Senior B2 team, led by Ferdos, served up a solid 2-0 victory over Loreto College.

There was nothing but smiles for the Middle girls’ teams who all secured wins in their respective matches. The A team, guided by the strength of Jenny, powered to second consecutive win on Saturday, smashing their way to a 2-0 win over St. Dominic’s Priory College. The Middle B2 team followed suit, securing a strong 2-0 victory over Loreto College thanks to a strong serving Kyanna. The Middle C2 team, not to be outshone, commanded a straight sets win against Our Lady Sacred Heart on the back of Liliana’s high quality performance. Lucy continued her strong form as the Year 7 girls rounded out the day with a solid 2-0 victory over St. Dominic’s Priory College.

Middle Cricket

After rain spoiled last week’s opener, the long wait was over for the Middle B cricket boys who took the field against Unley High School in a closely contested match. The boys padded up first, scoring 64 runs from their 20 overs, led by Rishi’s 26*. Unfortunately, this total was not enough as Unley High School chased down the target in the 19th over, winning by 3 wickets. Muhammad was outstanding with the ball, his figures read an incredible 5/10 at the end of play.
