An Exceptional Start to NIHS Pedal Prix 2025

Mt Gambier PP 1

Over the weekend of 29-30 March, 16 riders from our Senior Pedal Prix Teams made their way to Mount Gambier to take part in the first round of the Adelaide University – Australian HPV Super Series. Guided by their parents as Team managers and support crew, the students have kick started the year with an exceptional performance.

Team Spurls – Julissa (yr 11), Grace K (yr 10), Grace S (yr 10), Serena (yr 10), Ava, (yr 10), Willow (yr 10) and Violet (yr 9) performed brilliantly over the 8-hour race. Managing the various changes in weather conditions with ease and holding off Hills Christian College to take 1st in the Senior School All Female Category. A big thanks to Juliet Nicole and April Kelly for guiding the team through the day (and Mrs O’Brien and Jo Hess from afar).
107 Laps, 257.87km with a fastest lap of 3min 44sec (averaging 50km/h).

Mt Gambier PP Spurls

Team XP8 – Thomas (yr 10), Leo (yr 10), Luca (yr 11), Noah (yr 11), Chase (yr 11), Isaac (yr 11), Digby (yr 12) and Remy (yr 12) moved through the race with building momentum. A strong start saw the team hold in 3rd position, and with an impressive display of determination, they moved up to 1st to go home with the win in the Senior School Category.
142 Laps, 342.22km with a fastest lap of 2min 56sec (averaging 50km/h).
