On November 18, we proudly celebrated the outstanding achievements of our 2025 IBDP Year 12 graduates at our NIHS Graduation Ceremony.

Across every subject, our IBDP students have demonstrated the curiosity, resilience and commitment to a life of learning that define the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

At the ceremony, we acknowledged individual achievements across our Diploma subjects:

  • Tenzin Dema – received an Endeavour in IB Language & Literature, and IB Theory of Knowledge
  • Siddhan Govender – received Endeavour in IB Physics and Excellence in IB Chemistry, IB Economics, IB Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches, and IB Theory of Knowledge
  • Lam Ngoc Nguyen – received Endeavour in IB Language B EAL, and IB Environmental Systems & Societies
  • Elia Noon – received Endeavour in IB Biology, and IB Mathematics: Applications & Interpretations, and Excellence in IB Environmental Systems & Societies, and IB Language & Literature

Special Awards

The recipient for the IBDP Ethos Award is SIDDHAN GOVENDER.

This award is presented to the student who best embodies the philosophy of the IBDP – an educational programme that encourages academic achievement and development of free-thinking young people that are committed to life-long self-development.

When asked, his teachers speak of his genuine curiosity and thirst for knowledge, his resilience and drive in the face of challenge and his maturity and advanced critical thinking skills. Siddhan has been an intellectually curious and self-directed learner throughout the programme and an all-rounder in the truest IB sense. We congratulate Siddhan for this achievement.

The recipient for the International Student Award is SEUNGYUN SOHN.

This award is presented to the student in recognition of outstanding contribution to the development and advancement of internationalism at Norwood International High School.

Seungyun left her home in Korea and joined us at NIHS in 2023. She is highly motivated, sets ambitious goals and continually strives to achieve her best. To continue her advocacy of internationalism, she has applied to top tier Universities in Japan, reflecting her determination, global mindset and commitment to lifelong learning. As both a Prefect and the International Student Leader, Seungyun has been a positive International Student role model, contributing to the school community, representing the school at external events and embodying the values of leadership and integrity.

The recipient for the Dunstan Award for Excellence in Languages and Culture is GENPEI ZHANG.

Donated by the Member of Parliament for Norwood, this award is presented to the student who has demonstrated dedication and commitment in the pursuit of excellence in languages, together with the ability to operate comfortably across languages and cultures.

As an international student from China and an English language learner, Genpei’s decision to study German at IBDP Higher Level is an extraordinary achievement. He has shown remarkable perseverance, curiosity and academic excellence in mastering a third language to a very high standard. Genpei demonstrates a deep appreciation for language and culture, and his ability to move comfortably between German, English, and Chinese demonstrates empathy, adaptability, and openness to different perspectives. His aspiration to study at German’s largest and most prestigious music University in Berlin reflects this deep appreciation for culture and global outlook.

The recipient for the Panayoula Parha Award for Excellence in English is ELIA NOON.

This award is presented to the student who displays enthusiasm and love for literature and the ability to write with excellence and creativity and influence class discussion and understanding.

Elia knows what it means to appreciate the art of the written word and has demonstrated a commanding understanding across prose, drama and poetry, studying the works of Shakespeare, Atwood, Adichie, Dickens, Ionesco and so many others. In her undertaking of the rigors of the IB Diploma Language and Literature course, she has been a consistently thoughtful contributor to class discussions and her analytical work has been insightful and precise. Elia is also an avid and diverse reader, always eager to discuss the books she is reading for pleasure outside of the classroom.
